Hi, I've been having symptoms of anemia since 2018ish but have never really thought it was something wrong with me rather than lifestyle. I went to the doctors August 2022 had a blood test ,definitely anemic, they are no help at all so I researched myself I have 2 ferrous sulphate tablets each day and I'm still involuntarily falling asleep and feeling weak should I take more or should I look at other medications?

Is there a specialist I should see? I didn’t find out that I had anemia till first week of April. I woke up tired and very dizzy before I found out. I thought it was because I didn’t get enough sleep. One day i had abdominal pain. Doctor told me I was backed up & to take laxatives. She took blood sample because I told her how I had two periods in March which was weird for me because I don’t get my periods regularly. Mine been 9 months apart. I know it’s not a good sign but later on that’s how I found out I had anemi and PCOS from a OBGYN doctor in the same week.

Hi, you can call me Easterbunny because sometimes my birthday lands on Easter and I like to have fun with that. I am concerned about the Chronic Kidney Disease level 3 I have. it's been a few years. I have learned what foods help and lots of water. Also I am concerned about Anemia that is related to CKD. I take iron. Still have Anemia and eat well. I know I do some things that don't help at all with the CKD. Like smoke cigarettes. Drink some alcohol and coffee. Noone is perfect, but I feel I don't deserve much help if I continue doing things against myself. Has anyone felt that way also?

I found out at age 35( I'm nearly 73)that I had bilateral kidney disease, bad.Had both upper poles removed after treatment if two years. I've been fighting anemia since age 4,not knowing why back then. I can't keep my numbers up,even with taking an Iron supplement to every day Anyone have any suggestions as to to other treatment that my nephrologist may listen to? I'm tired of not having little to no energy. I've concluded that CKD has effected my heart. No scientific research on this.Just putting 2+2 together. The National Kidney Foundation has no answers.

My iron and hemoglobin have been up And down for a few years. Right now I am at around 9. I take iron twice a day. I was drinking ice tea everyday and gave that up because they said it my stop my absorption. Is there anything else I can do to boost my hemoglobin? Thank you

i have not been diagnosed with anemia, just been told to get bloodwork done by my friend who had trained to be a doctor. i just wanted to explain my symptoms and see if i should actually get it done (absolutely terrified of needles due to medical trauma of getting bloodwork done lol). the one that made her worry the most is mostly when i stand up i have a few different reactions, the most common one is getting dizzy and being very disoriented (i commonly trip in this state), another one is my vision going completely black and getting lightheaded, and the last one is just dizziness which is the second most common. i bruise easy, normally not knowing where most bruises came from. when i get cold my fingernails are a bluish purple and if i’m really really cold my hands turn into a sickly kind of blue. my toenails are always purple, never seen them a normal color. kinda forgot the rest lol but anemia runs in my family if that helps.

I often get dizzy when standing up and my vision starts to go black. I often need to grab onto something to stable myself, but it only lasts a few seconds. I’m wondering if these symptoms are from anemia (I’ve had issues with it in the past, and my anemia rn is pretty mild) or if the symptoms are from serous otitis media or something else.

I'm having a lot of signs that may relate to having anemia or a vitamin d deficiency. I did schedule an appointment to have them checked along with my thyroid as well. My appointment it almost a month away, does any one have any recommendations or advice on how I could maybe check them myself to see if I can figure anything out while I wait?
