Is it safe to drink alcohol with POTS?

Is drinking alcohol with POTS safe? Ive dranken a few times before but the last time i did i got this painful like, tense pain near my heart? I thought it was because of a medication im on because that was the only difference since i had last dranken but the medication wouldnt cause heart pain if combined with alcohol I was also incredibly nauseas (it was tequila though so i mean it was nasty af which mightve caused the nausea too?

I keep feeling like I’m going to fall asleep during the day to the point I can’t handle it anymore. It’s especially bad when I’m in the car, I can hardly keep my eyes open. (I don’t like to drive for long distances because of this) It’s almost like I’m awake but my body isn’t. Sometimes mom eyes are closed and I feel asleep but I hear the things around me- so I’m still conscious? What is this (is it normal?) and should I see a doctor of some sort?

Experiencing High Heart Rate with POTS Symptoms

Hey POTS friends. Has anyone experienced really bad symptom days where you stand and start walking and your heart rate goes up to 145 and kind of bounces around in between? I usually wear compression stockings but they were dirty so I am currently only wearing socks. I’m wondering if that had something to do with it? Diagnosed with Neurocardiogenic Syncope: Seeking Answers

i had my tilt table test yesterday and was diagnosed with neurocardiogenic syncope (vasovagal syncope). which, after 8-9 years of battling these symptoms and seeing doctors, i’m glad to finally have an answer, but it wasn’t the answer i was expecting and i have some questions i was hoping some of y’all might be able to answer. the diagnosis was vasovagal due to the presentation of hypotension during the tilt test, which from my understanding doesn’t occur in POTS (which is what i assumed i had before). but i’ve also read that POTS is daily and chronic whereas vasovagal is episodic, would someone be able to explain the difference? i guess i’m a little confused because my symptoms have been present every day since i was 13, and it’s had such a debilitating effect on my life so i’m wondering what the definition of “episodic” means in this context? if anyone has any insight into this diagnosis or what it may mean for the future, i’d love to hear it! it’s always helpful hearing from people going through or who have gone through similar things. thanks!

Fighting Dizziness for New Job in Fast Food

any advice on fighting off dizziness? I start a new job tomorrow and the only thing I could get was an order taker for fast food, so I won't be able to sit down for the first while. I know from my old job that my medication lets me be up and about for a prolonged amount of time, but that was a cooled environment with me walking around. I've never tried just standing in one place for a long period of time, and because it's fast food I know it's going to be hot.

My GI Symptoms Have Been Increasing - What Could It Be?

Hey everyone! I've been having increased GI symptoms recently and I was hoping someone might know what's going on. This will be long, sorry in advance. Quick background: diagnosed with POTS and multiple other conditions starting spring 2021 after a virus. Had moderate nausea and abdominal pain with eating from POTS, and diagnosed with mild chronic erosive gastritis. It wasn't until I got a cold/upper respiratory virus, (twice negative tests for Covid), last September that my GI symptoms progressively have been getting worse. Ruled out any medications causing it. Started as sore throats after eating dinner most nights, but I thought I was just still recovering from the virus. Then led to heartburn laying down at night, and now progressed to very constant throughout the day. It just started one day and has progressed since, and I've never had any acid reflux issues. Did full GI tests back in 2021 and only showed the erosions in my stomach, everything else was normal but obviously that may have changed since then. Doesn't matter what I eat or drink I will get bad heartburn, chest pain, sore throat, acid coming back up my throat, sore taste in mouth, bad breath from acid, burning feeling in stomach, sharp stomach pains, nausea feeling like I'm close to throwing up, and pain if I press on the top part of my stomach lightly. This doesn't only happen after eating also, often I will take up with heartburn and chest pain even if I haven't eaten since the evening before. No vomiting. And as time goes on, my appetite keeps decreasing. I don't feel hungry after a few bites of food, and feel really full/bloated majority of the day. I've lost a little weight from lack of appetite, but nothing worrisome yet. Zero relief with OTC antacids (pepto bismol, TUMS, pepcid). Tried prescription PPI (omeprazole) for 6 weeks on two different dosages with no relief. Did a 2-week trial of Carafate 3x daily with no relief. The only things I can think of are GERD or some type of delayed gastric emptying, but when I saw my GI initially she didn't mention either of these and said she wouldn't consider doing another endoscopy for 6-8 months after. Any ideas about what this could be or ways for pain relief? I'm scared I will do repeat GI tests and it all comes back normal.

Hi, I am not diagnosed with POTS but want to talk to people who are because I’m not sure if I might have it. My heart rate immediately increases about 40bpm going from lying down to standing and my blood pressure also goes up. I struggle with dizziness and lightheadedness, low energy, headaches, migraines, brain fog, etc., and often lose my vision for 5-10 seconds when I stand up or get out of bed. I also have raynauds.

Struggling with POTS Diagnosis and Medication

Well I have POTS. 😞🤦🏽‍♀️ I had an appointment with my cardiologist again today and we redid the echocardiogram and stress test. I failed both I’m assuming since my test results say “abnormal” but my doctor should me the papers and said “you definitely have POTS your heart rate jumped to 133 within 18 seconds” 😩 Tomorrow I start with a low dose of a beta blocker but if it mess with my Raynuads they will change the medication to something else.
