by Alike Medical Team ∙ Updated on June 13, 2023
Non- celiac gluten sensitivity refers to a condition which is characterized by intestinal symptoms which gets better when foods containing gluten are eliminated from diet. It is diagnosed only after ruling out Celiac disease and wheat allergy. There is a debate whether this condition is a distinct clinical disorder from other gluten-related disorders. It may cause intestinal and extra intestinal symptoms, but in endoscopic examination, no changes to the villi of the intestines are seen.
