Seeking Advice on Dealing with Fibromyalgia and Doctors

Hey guys, my sister found out she had fibromyalgia and I'm going to talk to my doctor about it as I have been seeing a doctor for years trying to figure out what's wrong with me. My question is, what is your experience with doctors and Fibromyalgia? I know some don't even believe in it.

Can Fibromyalgia Cause Flare-ups Without Pain?

can you have a fibro flare up with out actual pain ? we had a TERRIBLE thunderstorm last night had no power all night long. I didn't sleep well I was anxiety ridden still am. and I woke up this morning with almost like " flu like " symptoms nauseous stomachache headache extreme brain fog fatigue feeling weak feeling sad/depressed anxouis pressure feeling in my head just not feeling right or good.

Understanding the Benefits of a National Disability Card and Blue Badge

I applied for a national disability card today and got it. It was quite stressful to apply for though. I don’t really understand the benefits of the card as in discounts/skipping queues. Does it mean whoever is with me can skip the queue too or do they need a carer card. I can’t keep researching it because it’s so stressful so if anyone understands the benefits then please explain it to me, thanks 😊 I also applied for a blue badge for disabled parking for my physical disabilities so hopefully I get that because it would really help to not have to park far away and walk ages 🤞🏼 but I’m also quite anxious about if I do get that because I’ve heard stories of random people confronting disabled people and saying horrible things for them parking in the disabled bay because their disability isn’t visible.

Memory Loss in Fibromyalgia: How Much is Normal?

How much memory loss/ forgetfulness is normal for Fibromyalgia? I know brain fog is a symptom, but it feels like I'm forgetting more and more longer term memories AND shorter term memories. I look at pictures I've taken and either can't remember at all, it's foggy, or I only remember pieces. There's very few memories I can remember pretty clearly. I have a doctor appointment in about a week to talk about it, but I was wondering how much is normal?

Legs turning purple when sitting or standing for too long

Does anyone experience their legs going purple and discoloured when they sit no matter what positions they try? It's just really annoying. I find that when it happens I generally feel a little light headed when I do stand up. Not a clue what's causing it. Doctor said could just be how I sit so I've tried multiple positions and the same thing happens. The same thing also happens if I stand too long my lower legs and feet go purple and I get dizzy.

does anyone have chronic pain that they had before the fibro started that got worse with the fibro? i've had pain in both my hips, knees, and wrists since at least high school and they all got worse when my fibro started but i know the fibro didn't cause them.

I've been having an issue where every morning about an hour after I wake up I start having pretty extreme pain that lasts all day. Looking for Fibromyalgia Pain Management Alternatives

I am seeing a new doctor on Tuesday (a new primary care). Seems like a good time reassess how I’m managing my health. I want to stop taking lyrica, but that combined with naltrexone is the only thing that has come remotely close to managing my fibro pain. Are there any vitamins or supplements or natural/homeopathic things that have helped y’all in place of lyrica that I can talk to the doc about? Or any lifestyle changes (diet, specific types of PT, etc.). I can’t afford acupuncture right now, but do see a chiropractor regularly.
