Let’s talk about Ketamine ! I recently finished my initial treatments. I wanted to share my experience with people because this has been life changing for me. No doctor recommended this to me! I understand it’s alternative medicine. I am now a fairly well functioning person after about a year of going downhill! I no longer have the “stabbies” (random stabs of pain in my body), my brain fog has lessened, my fatigue is down by at least 70% and I get less pain overall now. If you’re like me and have tried everything or have been told “you just need to exercise more” but nothing really helps, this is something to look into. There are some great articles to look at online that explains what ketamine does to your body. I’m hoping I can reach a few people on here that need to hear this! Feel free to message me with any questions :) I would love to try and help.

@Ine thank you. This is what I needed to read. I have to be careful as addiction runs strong in my genes.

How often do you need to do it? How long are you "offline" so to speak (ie unable to function) I worry about what we do to our bodies when it thinks its well... is there a big crash after the ketamine benefits diminish? I was on naltrexone for 10 yrs. But unable to continue for some current lifestyle issues.

How is this different than Spravato?

@emms2e from what I can tell, Spravato is only used to treat treatment resistant depression unlike regular ketamine due to dosage and administration differences.

Have you or do you know anyone that had withdrawal symptoms after stopping the treatments or taking a break from treatment?

@CandidBum I don’t think that’s very common. It’s actually used to treat addiction in some people if that helps :)

Did u have any negative side effects or experiences with it at all, or has it been all good? I’ve been thinking about doing this but I’m too scared to

@Nal I personally did not have any negative side effects but sometimes during treatment your emotions can be heightened which could cause some distress. It’s important to be in a good and positive headspace before you start :)

@Moon_Fawn I would like to try it but I’m scared my anxiety would turn into a panic attack

Ketamine works but maybe a little too well for me. I get mildly addicted to it and its side effects kinda mess with me in ways I'd prefer it not to

@Ine what were your side effects ?

I was recommended ketamine by my psychologist, but he's an hour away from me now and I owe him money. He can't give it anyways, he referred me to someone else. But I never got to go try it. I'll be looking for someone nearby who can do that. Your story is really inspiring and motivating to try that treatment plan.

Yay! I did ketamine for treatment resistant depression, but it mostly helped with my chronic pain. 👍

I tried Ketamine. It didn't help at all and was super expensive as insurance didn't cover it.

@Mamaqueen from what I understand it helps your brain heal and reestablish pathways
