I have an appointment with my gyno/urologist next week, so I will discuss this then, but I want to get input from others if possible until then. Might be long post, sorry. Also AFAB for biological context. Has anyone had IC caused irritation or whatever to the kidney(s)? It isn't constant, no fever or anything accompanying, just random sporadic feeling that's like mild stabbing plus cold feeling in that area on one side. Similar to how my bladder feels. I've been having that feeling in the lower right pelvis (around where the ovary would be) for maybe a couple months or so now, it went away after a week or two last time and they couldn't find anything wrong. The pain is less this time but is in more places (left and right side, sometimes closer to center pelvis) and now up in my right side on occasion. I don't know how concerned to be? I don't have great insurance and no money for urgent care, and don't want to go to the hospital again after how I was treated there last year.
Has anyone had bladder installations? My doctor suggested them once a week for 8 weeks. Sis it help you guys? I know everyone is different, but just curious. Also have the aloe Vera capsules and prelief helped you guys?
Does anyone take Gabapentin for IC pain and does it help?
Has anyone taken Elmiron for IC? I’m not going to try it at least with what I know now, I can’t have weight gain or definitely not the concerning blindness issue that comes with it, but I’m very very curious as to anyone’s experiences with it!
I really want to make myself start an elimination diet. Or at least cut out the most known trigger foods. What do you know/think are your triggers? And what’s a widely known trigger that you think doesn’t affect you?
I’ve been having recent flares of interstitial cystitis that my doctor thinks are UTIs, even though I don’t test positive for them. I’ll be given antibiotics anyway. Can anyone relate? What do you typically do? Thank you!
How do I alleviate the feeling of a burning urethra and having something stuck there like a bubble that makes sitting so uncomfortable? What supplements or meds help with this I’ve tried Utiva uquora and nothing…
What helps with urethra pain ana burning after I pee my urethra still feels like there’s pee there and it burns ant help or supplements that help with this thanks!
Just wanted to say Uribel literally saved me from this condition. ❤
How do you know the difference between a bladder infection, interstitial cystitis, a yeast infection, or bacterial vaginosis? So confusing so I always assume it’s a bladder infection. Sick of going to urgent care every time I feel pain.
Is there an alternative to elmiron. I have cyclical vomiting from the medication
I'm starting pelvic PT next week. what do I need to expect from them?
i had my first bladder instillation a week ago and getting another one next week. i already feel a little better; no incredibly debilitating bladder pain (yet) when i used to get horrible pains every 2-3 days that sometimes had me immobilized for a short period of time. it also reduced my 3 nightly bathroom trips down to 1!!! im supposed to have one every week for 8 weeks, and then monthly after that.. is this going to be my life now? getting a catheter every month? i do really love how i feel now and not have to rely so much on CBD for pain management but i just dread being catheterized cause well.. its a catheter.
Other than meds ,what can help when I have bad ic flare ups?
How have you been able to manage IC over time.
I went to the bathroom five times in three hours. It felt like back to back. The more I went, there was more pain. I do drink fluids and it is not always water. Any suggestions to have more relief and less urgency?
Does anyone have an overactive bladder? (Frequency/urgency) If so, how do you cope? What do you take?
I have never been officially diagnosed with IC but my mom was and we had a lot of the same symptoms only mine is only pain in my urethra. Just wondering if anyone else feels it there or only there?
Hi, I’m in the process of trying to get diagnosed, not sure if it’s IC or pelvic floor dysfunction. Either way, my main symptom is a horrible pain/burning in my urethra. Usually it will only last a few days at a time but it’s been weeks now. Every time this happens I get tested for a UTI and it’s always negative so I’ve stopped getting tested because it’s just not realistic at this point. I use AZO pain relief and it always helps but it’s expensive and it’s not good to for you to use every day. Does anyone have any supplements they use that help with this type of pain?
Hey, I was officially diagnosed with IC today after a 2-ish year battle with urinary urgency, frequency, and now urethral burning. Azo doesn’t work, amitriptyline made me gain constipated with weight gain, advil and Tylenol don’t do much, hydroxyzine works a tiny bit, pelvic PT is hit or miss, and I took urogesic blue today but I don’t think it did anything. What the heck do I take for relief? I’m trying alkaline water and an elimination diet as of today. The urgency is my worst symptom.
