How can I deal with change without catastrophizing and letting intrusive thoughts take over my mind? I have some changes coming up that I feel will trigger me and I'm already panicking and expecting the worst. I try to replace my negative what-ifs with good what-ifs (like "What if everything works out?") but my mind always circled back into negative thoughts loops. I am so scared and it's hard to talk about this with others since people around me don't really get it.

One way to deal with change without catastrophizing is to focus on things that are in your control and remind yourself that you cannot control everything. Acknowledge the possibility of negative outcomes, but also consider positive ones. Practice mindfulness and breathing exercises to help manage anxiety and panic. Writing down 3-5 good things that happened each day can also help shift your focus towards positive aspects of life. Remember, it's normal to feel scared, but finding coping mechanisms that work for you can make a difference.
