I don't like change. I like things to go as planned. my anxiety really gives me a fit. Is there something that I can do when I am feeling down and my anxiety is acting up

what really helped me are two phrases: what is, is and what is there to do. i run through the problem and i ask myself, "what is there to do?" if there is something immediate i do it, otherwise i leave it. what is, is. i used to really worry about the state of the world but i realized by asking myself what is there to do? that so little of it depends on me. so i only attempt to control my own actions and accept that others will do the same.

I find for me it actually helps if I play out the worst case scenario… I realize that I’ll handle it if something comes up and be ok eventually even if the situation isn’t. I get extreme anxiety running late or really not early for being early and just thinking of what is really going to happen that’s going to be as catastrophic as my anxiety… think acknowledging things could go terribly wrong instead of trying to ignore it like so many people or therapists have told me isn’t helpful. I like to prepare so when I feel like I’ve thought thru situations and what ifs I can actually take the anxiety down a lot. Found that not many people like this but it for sure is a game changer for me to do this otherwise I constantly have a sense of overwhelming dread. Hope you find what helps you🙏🏻
