While it’s great to connect with people who are going through what we are going through, I think it’s Important to remember to also study those who are the healthiest What are their habits?

Sometimes, whether you get a condition or not isn't always based on your habits. I eat better than anyone I know, I get 8 hours of sleep a night, and for a while I was working out regularly until my other conditions slowly made it impossible. Also got super high cholesterol despite all that, which runs in my mom's side of the family. While everyone in my family for example eats fast food, pizza, chips, cake, etc most of the time and are sedentary and they're all way healthier than me with no chronic conditions. Some of us just got a bad luck of the draw with genetics lol

It’s easy to loose weight if you have severe ibs. I always feel better when fasting or not eating breakfast or lunch! If you can limit intake without skipping meals you will be better off! Mine controls me somewhat so I can’t really tell you where the balance is.

I have very severe IBS. I can’t eat dairy, eggs, gluten, soy, fast food or any junk food (nothing. Seriously), nothing arrirical, GMOs, or MSGs, and certain foods that just randomly set off my stomach. I can only drink water and eat gluten free wild rice with just salted chicken or turkey. Gluten free bagels with plant butter. I can’t eat out. Like anywhere, ever. 😬😬

I got an allergy test to see what my intolerances were and eliminated those foods from my diet. I mostly eat meet, rice, vegan protein powder w/ almond milk, and some greens. I try to drink lots of water and aloe Vera water makes my stomach feel relaxed. Daily exercise helps. I tried intermittent fasting and the only thing it helped was regulate my poop schedule a little better. I used to do breathing exercises and listen to 528hz for relaxation and that seemed to help a ton (I definitely need to start again). Staying away from anything that gives your brain a dopamine blockage is good (addictive substances). I wake up early to give myself plenty of time to push everything out before work. Don’t care about anything or let anyone put you down and that will help relief general stress.

When I first had symptoms they grew to be awful rapidly I finally went to the dr and they weren’t much help and wanted to do tests that sounded even more miserable So I started doing research I was a heavy marijuana smoker and while it wasn’t something I was excited about I realized I needed to try cutting it out of my routine I also cut out most foods I went to mostly a carnivore diet per recommendation of a video I found I also noticed I wasn’t drinking much actual water, but tea and juices, so I cut them out and started drinking only water and kombucha I have been introducing things slowly back into my diet What I have found is -stay away from dairy -stay away from gluten -unfortunately smoking and vaping marijuana was causing pain, I have not tried edibles yet tho -avoid dissonance of all sorts, sounds(angry or depressing music), stressful people, stressful situations etc -if I go out and want to drink alcohol I just order a double shot of vodka on the rocks -drink tons of water -drink kombucha at least once a day -ginger is good -garlic seems to be good -potato’s are good -listening to YouTube videos of Tibetan singing bowls or other sound healing, helps retune my inner strings back to harmony so I wake up refreshed, (Also listening to an audiobook of the Tao Te Ching regularly, keeps my psyche centered) -it’s vitally important I spend time in nature regularly, especially barefoot so I can be electrically connected to the earth and let go of my waste energy, and take in fresh energy Also I feel like I should probably start exercising…perhaps I start today

@Jebender Also I have lost weight and weighed in less than I did when I was on the high school wrestling team…..with full clothes and shoes on…. But I have found that eating the right things (Mostly meat and potatoes) Allows me to eat more without getting bloated or having pain

I have my IBS, albiet very minor in comparison to others for which i am so so happy, under control pretty decently at this point. I drink 1/2 a gallon of water a day, drink nothing but beer water kombucha and tea, avoid any dairy/meat that isn't a fish, and have been trying positive mental exercises for my anxiety triggered cramps which has worked immensely. I definitely need to work on eating more and gaining weight personally, I don't know if it's common, but it's very hard to eat when you have a restricted diet on top of a wicked high metabolism, and would love to hear another person's way of coping w that stuff :)
