I want to get into fitness. I don’t get out much so I don’t move my body as much as I should. It also wouldn’t hurt if I shed some fat to show off my figure. I did a short beginner low impact workout today and I felt sweaty but not winded. It burned but I’ve always loved that about exercising. I haven’t exercised since freshman year of high school. I’m 20 now, 21 in a few months so it’s been a while (abt 6 years). I miss being able to run a mile in less than 8 minutes. I miss being able to get a runners high and feeling accomplished when I would do a plank for the longest amount of time or the most pushups. I’m not 14 anymore and my body definitely feels it. I’m low on energy and it makes me so depressed and miss out on life. I also have no idea about how to diet to work with and not against my body and workouts. These are supposed to be the prime years of my life but I feel like I’m missing out. Any advice?

"Starting small and gradually increasing your activity level can be beneficial. One person suggested doing one more thing or step than the day before, starting with a short distance and adding some daily. Another person recommended setting 5-minute goals to start a habit. Tracking your progress can also be motivating. It might be helpful to talk to someone about your concerns, whether it be with a friend, stranger, or professional. It could be an issue with your hormones or another bodily function. You could also consider using a trainer for accountability and to ensure you don't hurt yourself."
