Struggling with Exercise Motivation

Been having a terrible time attempting to exercise. I used to exercise every day for hours. But I would just rather lay in bed. How can I motivate myself for a life change that requires long term consistency

I'd say try a lot of sitting machines if you've got access & enough energy to get to a gym. If not, 5 minutes a day doing exercises that feel like they're hardly exercising much at all, (if that's walking, a few crunches, a plank, squats, Russian twists- whatever feels good). It’s still exercise, and your muscles still strengthen and consider it as such. Over time, your mind will associate with being a person who gets to work out, even if it is just 5 minutes. This is a GREAT reward system for a happy brain bc u get to check off a goal. If 5 minutes gets manageable, you can add more time in increments of 5 and try to come up with exercise routines/ habits you can manage within that time frame. For example, could do each workout a minute straight and move on, or do 2-3 reps of 5-10 count of each exercise (whatever fits in your time frame). Play around with routine, take rest and days off if need be, be proud of your progress, and extend grace to your body πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’ Hope this helps, happy healing!

Tracking your steps with a fitness tracker, investing in a playlist and wireless ear pods while working out, tracking your meal intakes, rewarding yourself with non food items every two weeks or end of the month. Lots of water , starting with small steps that turn into big ones. Remember a body in motion stays in motion and ironically getting moving while tired can actually work countertuitive and help stimulate or get your energy flowing.
