Struggling with Weight Loss

I'm trying to get healthier and lose some weight, but I feel like it's so hard. It's hard to have the strength and energy to work out, I've been watching what I eat and trying to get my 10,000 steps, but I don't feel like the weight is going anywhere. Suggestions? What have you found that works?

I know everyone is different and symptoms can be from several possibilities. I want to share my experience, that maybe it will help you or someone else. I was complaining to all my Drs about being tired constantly and zero energy for years. I'm talking close to 20 years. It was more than just being tired, I was exhausted. They all seemed to brush me off, saying its your depression, lose weight, change diet, exercise more, blah blah blah. It wasn't until about 6 months ago, when I complained about getting confused that anyone took me seriously. I was referred to a Neurologist who did an EEG and I was diagnosed with partial onset seizures. Once regulated on my meds, the tiredness eased up and I started having more energy. My Neurologist thinks I have been having them for most of my life and worsened over the last 5 or so years causing the confusion, based on my description of symptoms. I guess what I am saying is that being tired and having zero energy is not for no reason. There is a real cause for your symptoms. Please don't let your Dr give you excuses or guesses without any action behind them. Stand your ground, keep pushing for answers. Ask for referrals and/or tests for possible causes. 🙏 🫂 💜 to you all

I can relate. I cannot exercise due to health issues. The most I can do is light yoga and stretching type. I can only walk short distance at a time. My psych told me "it doesn't matter how fast nor how far you walk/move. What matters is that you are walking/moving". That has helped me get in a better state of mind, as far as the exercise I get. Our whole household has changed our diets recently. It helps me stick to it because everyone is doing it to. We are low carb, low-zero sugar, more vegetables and more red meat (because 2 of us are anemic). I noticed positive changes in my body, but little weight loss. It is so frustrating! I am at a loss of what to do as well. 🤷‍♀️

I had an endocrinologist recently tell me that I had to dedicate 30 minutes a day to exercise after explaining that people with pain can sometimes just move around. It’s was very annoying!!

Please always remember that you’re doing your best and your body does not equal your worth as a person! It’s just a meat suit! I’m in the same boat where I cannot exercise and I have so many food issues that it’s hard to “watch what I eat.” I’m trying to wean myself off of soda by switching to herbal ice tea and slowly reducing the sugar I add to it over time.

oh the food issues. I already cut gluten out because of an intolerance, and avoid so many things. I've been a vegetarian for over 25 years for personal reasons, and I've never really liked sweets. My biggest thing I need to quit is whiskey. But then my chiropractor says I should have a drink at night to relax. 🤔 It's so hard to balance it all. And some days I get so frustrated I don't want to eat at all.
