Yes, but in a different way. In my case they were dismissive of my anxiety symptoms. When I had my first panic attack I thought I was dying. I didn’t realize it was stress. My stomach and chest hurt so bad I was rushed into the E.R. I genuinely thought I was having a heart attack but after they ran tests, that were inconclusive, they said it was symptoms relating to menstruation. This is when I didn’t even have my period yet. I tried to explain the pain but since I’m a woman it was brushed off as a womens issue and discharged me. The same thing also happened with appendicitis. I had sharp stomach pains which were initially dismissed as menstrual related. Long story short doctors tend to have preconceived notion’s about you based on your appearance or chart instead of looking at the symptoms. Try to find a doctor who will listen to you and your symptoms.
