I have absolutely no respect for doctors. I’m going to try switching over to a naturopath so I hope they’re aren’t shitty gaslighters as well. 1) They blame all of my symptoms including increasing pain on my anxiety and depression, when I know myself and that I am feeling worse in a way that didn’t happen without the pain. I really regret sharing my mental health with them and from now on will lie that I’m feeling great mentally. 2) They only try to make me take SSRIs which I am not interested in because I don’t want to deal with side effects or being reliant on medication. I prefer natural remedies right now, but my dr keeps bringing it up suggesting that it will help my mental health and ibs. I have told her several times that dealing with ibs all these years hasn’t been hard, but now that I have inflammation and my burning pain has gotten worse, it’s been hard to do anything or manage it. My problem with this is not mental, it’s physical! 3) They do not try to find the root cause of issues and only look into things/order more tests if it becomes severe. There are no preventative measures taken and I don’t want my issues to become a chronic illness. When I was diagnosed with stomach inflammation, they didn’t say anything about what may have caused it and just sent me on my way with pills without advice on how I should change my diet. This is not normal. 4) My cervix was red during a pap smear a few days ago and now i’m thinking my digestive issues are linked to something reproductive, like endo or worse. My pain is in the lower abdomen/pelvic area, and not one of my 4 drs thought to refer me to rule that out. They assumed and only ordered GI tests. I now see that many of my symptoms could be connected to a reproductive organ issue. Why am I having to do their job, do research, and try to diagnose myself?

This sounds like me having headaches and fibromyalgia and my dr sending me to a neurologist. The neurologist said the issues I was sent to him for could be resolved by getting carpal tunnel surgery and losing weight. 20 days later I had a TIA that another neurologist said could have been prevented if he'd ran a CT or something. Keep trying, some will listen.
I relate to you what sucks is that naturopathic is out of pocket but If you have the funds go for it
Unfortunately a lot of doctors are poorly educated and have a lot of incorrect beliefs about health issues. Aside from that, the inflammation they probably don’t know what the cause is of that they can only diagnose what it is and medicate for it. Unfortunately GI issues are really complex and we are very behind in understanding. The endo thing, takes an average of 7-10 years to get diagnosed with endo so I’m not shocked. It does make sense to try to rule anything else out as endo is a surgical only diagnosis and that is considered a last resort. That being said you’ve done a lot of testing and your best bet is to go to Nancy’s Nook Endometriosis Education page on FB and go to their files, there’s a list of vetted endometriosis specialists. Go see one of them and they can help you schedule diagnostic surgery and treat it appropriately (excision)
