i’m going to use a personal anecdote for this: i have a lot of stomach issues and nausea/vomiting without any proof of problems via scans or colonoscopy/endoscopy- currently they want to check me for delayed gastric emptying - which can cause pain in the stomach but not show up on scans like that.
now, i’m not saying you have delayed gastric emptying, im just giving an example of when other scans show nothing, it could be information to your doctors about your health that can be bringing you closer to your answer. the difference between us is i’m lucky enough to have a GI doc that really really cares to find an answer for me and believes my pain, instead of defaulting to anxiety.
i think it is important that you advocate for yourself the best you can. a way you can do this is keep a journal of your stomach symptoms while also tracking your anxiety symptoms. if the pain is still there with low anxiety days, that can be helpful proof for you to receive more specialized testing.
however, it’s also important to note that with most disorders, uncontrolled anxiety can really affect your health, especially in the stomach. you may be dealing with some nasty flares because of your anxiety, and finding coping mechanisms and anxiety treatment that works could be your best friend in lowering your pain level, even if it isn’t a cure.
sorry for such a long comment, but what i am saying is really really important!
TLDR: find ways to advocate for yourself, but also understand that anxiety could lead to nasty flares up too, even if the symptoms aren’t from anxiety.
