I’ve never been the athletic type but I’ve been doing my best to get active. I’ve been having trouble, though, because I find myself being avoidant of the gym and exercise. I eventually realized that it is because exercise mimics the physical manifestations of a panic attack (sweating, racing heart, etc). Does anyone else deal with this? How can I manage?

      Walking is what helped me. Lots of it. Over the course of a year, I lost 40 pounds. Now that my body is more resilient, I’ve graduated to yoga and other forms of exercise. But if you’re able, walking is the place to begin. Can be a slow walk, even. It’s the distance and time you put into it that matters.
