What's a good home remedy way to get rid of severe migraines?

@ghibli I can confirm that Excedrin works better than all of those medications for me also. I take a Sudafed with my Excedrin, then a hot shower with an ice pack for my head (I know, weird but the steam and temperatures distract me long enough to let the meds kick in). Has kept me out of the ER a time or two. Good luck!

Coffee. The caffeine helps me with Tylenol

I read ginger tea, if you drink it 3x a day

I’ve been suggested to use an ice pack which in theory should work better but I actually find a heating pad to be more soothing personally although Both work for me. I put it where the pain is coming from. The less light and noise you can find the better. I have black out curtains for this reason. drink something with caffeine in it, and take some pain medicine. I use either ibuprofen or excederin. Tylenol and acetaminophen unfortunately don’t do anything for me and then you have to wait sometimes for hours or up to a day and a half for me even with all of that stuff, but it beats having a migraine last 2-3 days untreated for sure

Blindfold, earplugs, dark quiet bedroom, trash bin by the bed, and just try to stay still. Feverfew tea helps a little to prevent and lessen the affects of migraines, for me at least.

cool damp washcloth over your eyes with a compression mask over. lights off. this sounds crazy but out of all the medications i’ve tried ( fiorcet, umbrevly, nurtec) i find that excedrine extra strength works the best. migraine and aura is gone within 30 minutes i swear by it.

Usually when I get my migraines I have some green or ginger tea. Goes away within a couple minutes! Also a good nap helps. I know it’s hard to sleep with a migraine but you can try sleeping with a nice heated blanket and a towel with hot water over your head. I promise you will feel so much better after waking up!

Just icepack, eye mask to block light, earplugs block sound and sleep. Find triggers by keeping record of what you ate or was exposed to each day and AVOID there-after.

I have found self-massage helpful some of the time. Sometimes it makes the pain worse though! And dark, cool, and sleep.
