What is it?

Vestibular disorders are conditions that affect the inner ear, where the organ that controls balance is located. In these conditions, symptoms may include dizziness and trouble with achieving balance. The most common vestibular disorder is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), which happens when the ear crystals move from one part of the inner ear to another part. Other disorders include labyrinthitis which is an infection in the middle ear. Vestibular neuritis is when a general viral infection affects the nerve that conducts sounds and balance. People who suffer from Meniere disease have sudden attacks of vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss and a feeling of fullness in the ear. Meniere disease is caused due to allergy, virus, fluids in the middle ear, and autoimmune reaction.
