Currently at work, having a panic attack. i think it was triggered by being hungry and getting shaky. I’m also a hypochondriac so my brain is under the impression that this is a heart attack. I’m 21 and healthy so its very unlikely, but I’m struggling to tell myself I’m fine. Any advice?

One time I took myself to the hospital because I woke up thinking I got a "spider bite" of course this never happened but my brain got so freaked out I dropped to the floor. Another time I was bleeding from my ass, which was actually simple hemorrhoids, and also nearly passed out. I have passed out and panicked so many times over nothing and I always go to the worst case scenario and I ALWAYS think I'm about to die.

This is exactly how my panic attacks started. I felt like I was going to faint and I started freaking out! Now when I have symptoms such as shakiness, dizziness, shortness of breath, cold sweats, I automatically start panicking It’s a vicious cycle. One thing that usually helps me is I have to Constantly remind myself that I am safe, I’m not in danger, these are just feelings and they will pass! That’s easier said than done, however. I have learned that while medications do help some, the best way to over come panic attacks is to face them head on, accept them, and learn to calm yourself. Also easier said than done. It takes lots and lots of practice. I’m sorry your have to deal with this horrible feeling, and I hope they go away soon! ❤️‍🩹

what messes me up is the symptoms of my panic attacks, how similar they can be to a medical emergency is what really kills me.

It is not a heart attack most likely. I have had the same thoughts, that sounds like a panic attack. Panic attacks are intense.

If you can step outside and take some deep breaths also feeling different fabrics or textures might help if you think it because your under stimulated or just feel like you need to be grounded from a high
