Hello! Since I’m young I have never been interested in sexual intimacy of any kind but sort of just did it because i “needed to” I have never enjoyed it much. But as I got older I did have sexual intercourse that I enjoyed but again it wasn’t like I needed to I just did it to do it and honestly could go the rest of my life without ever doing anything. I started dating my boyfriend and we had a healthy sex life. I decided to go on birth control and 6-12 months into it my libido that I did have was completely destroyed. At first I was still able to attempt it but it would start to hurt even if I wasn’t dry. I now can’t even force myself to have intercourse. I don’t get any urges whatsoever. My boyfriend is as supportive as he can be but it is a hard topic for me. I definitely feel like I have always been somewhat asexual but I cannot figure out if there is also a greater issue here? I have been to 3 gynecologists and they told me I “looked perfect” and that it was “all in my head” but I feel like there is a greater problem here. Sorry for the rant.

Could be trauma or even just what happens to some people. Even heavily hypersexuals can later on completely lose those urges and then identify as asexual. Could be you are asexual after all which is not a bad thing at all. Honestly though if it's painful it could be you have a mind block or you're burnt out and feel like it's just something to do but don't enjoy it. Asexuals burn out too. Take some time off, find other things to do with your partner (can't suggest here as minors), explain that it has become painful for penatrative sex but you're okay doing x y and z instead.

@bomb only med I’ve been on is Birth control that I at first assumed was the cause so I stopped taking it but nothing came back. So, not sure
