Struggling to Afford Healthcare: Copays and Bills Keep Changing

I am in a situation where I feel absolutely distressed and discouraged about both my physical and mental health. I need to see physicians and psychiatrists regularly, but my insurance and the copays/bills keep changing and I can’t keep up.. how am I expected to take care of myself if I can’t afford to?

Can you help? connect today

I’m so sorry to hear this. Keep petitioning your insurance if you can. And you’re not alone struggling with m anxiety about physical and mental health. (I have something that is basically stomach migraines, and I am on wellbutrin too, and used to be on lamictal)

thank you so much for that. Just the fact that I’m not alone means so much. I am currently on both Wellbutrin and Lamictal, and I have also had to change providers. I try to clarify and make sure that everything will be ready to go before my visits, but it just seems like there are consistent surprises after each visit. It’s just frustrating you know?

If those don't work, there's one that will. It's been a year with this psychiatrist and I have changed meds so many time. As a matter of fact they just changed them again! I know how frustrating it can be and I am here for you if you ever need to talk.

the new provider I just switched to a new psychiatrist only about a month ago (who is also leaving, so i have to switch again) and basically told me that because my previous psychiatrist switched my meds so many times, my diagnosis was wrong. It has definitely been an issue for me lately and I feel very in the dark about a lot of things right now. Thank you for the support!

I'm on Wellbutrin and lamictal too! When talking with my Dr I said that I wanted something thst was effective but not an expensive drug. Now she checks the price of meds before prescribing them. And the copays and bills? I completely understand. I get Bill notices every month in the mail for hundreds of dollars for various things. I have just barely cleaned up my credit, and that's only because anything over 7 years falls off.
