Struggling to Get Mental Help Without Backlash

Anyone else have issues with getting mental help without getting backlash for it? Last month I went in after not being on meds for 9 months due to insurance cutoff, and holy crap they tore me down due to me having schizophrenia and severe depression and not being medicated. They only prescribed me certain meds, not all the ones I was on, and told me “just get over it. Everyone has problems. See the brighter side.” this was coming from a doctor. Bc of this, I’m so hesitant to go back to the same doctor. But it’s the only one who will see me without insurance. Everywhere else is so expensive. And I’m trying my best to not go back to inpatient because I was there back in September of last year. Things are just getting harder. My emotions are so out of control, the voices won’t shut up, and I’m trying not to be suicidal. I’m sorry for rambling….

Aw man. I'm really sorry you're going through this. I don't really know any practical advice for this situation unfortunately, except maybe to check if there are any organizations in your area that can help. Believe it or not, people at public libraries can be really good at hooking people up with available resources. Sending hopeful vibes ❤️

Medicaid/medicare can help if you need medications to live without hallucinations, you have to be under a certain income though. What are they telling you to get over? Wtf you need these medications. Last time I went to inpatient was because I didn't have enough money for an appointment with a doctor (I had just moved to a different state) and I NEEDED to be back on medications at that point. Sometimes you have to make those moves but if they've already prescribed you the meds you need, everything's okay?
