i feel so empty and numb inside. i have so much work to do but i can’t get anything done. i can’t help it. i really don’t know what to do…i can’t escape from due and overdue assignments and group work that i am responsible for. i need a break. i need to disappear for sometime but that’s not possible. i don’t know what to do. any advice on how to be productive despite depressive episodes?

I think reaching out to another person and letting them know how you feel could help a lot, just to feel a little better. Then they can also help you with ideas of what to do in your specific situations. For work, my husband got a doctor's note addressing his depression and anxiety and it helped his bosses and coworkers understand why he couldn't show up every day or have to leave early, etc. It's a real big deal and it's really difficult to understand for most people since it's an invisible illness, but it's still there.
