totally off topic of chronic illnesses but I'm on a weight loss journey and have lost 60lbs in the last year. my partner and I together have lost a grand total of 115lbs in the last year. Mind you we are not done, i still have another 60 to go before I'm comfortable. We didn't cut out what we like, we just changed a few ingredients. The mission zero carb tortillas have been a life saver because bread is the devil lol (because its so dang good). you can do anything with those things, we make "sandwiches", pizzas, wraps, nachos, tacos, even lasagna can be made with them.. I just know I've seen a bunch of my alikes struggling with weight loss and I wanted to share our main secret to our success. We also switch out rice for cauliflower-rice (not our favorite but we fancy it up and make it edible), however cauliflower mash can go so so hard if you do it right (I usually do it like a twice baked potato style). Broccoli can be amazing if you season it and cook it right, no one wants mush, well some do (and you do your thing boo). if you want green beans to change your life and your not scared of onion or bacon message me for the recipe! Every once in a while we will treat ourselves but we try to stay way from bread, we treat ourselves with potatoes or the other devil (pasta). I am a big foodie and if anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to ask!

Congratulations on finding a plan you can do well on! I did something similar due to sensitivity, and I'm down 70lbs already in just over a year. I let myself eat potatoes and air fry everything that would normally pan fry or deep fry. Even found a recipe for air fryer eggs!

@faerywyrm I don't completely omit fats I just limit them and i use fats that have less ingredients, like olive oil, butter, and this may sound horrible to some but I keep all my bacon grease. Eggs are the best in bacon grease. Animal fat actually makes for a good source of fats. I would not say I follow keto, but it's pretty close I'm probably in the middle of Keto and Paleo. I just do what works for me. Eating healthy doesn't have to be ice and Lettuce, it doesn't have to be bland. I eat a lot of vegetables but I make them flavorful. My partner didn't touch veggies before we got together and now she cannot get enough of them and actually gets excited for my vegetable sides over the main dish.

@Kmlb5464 it's great to hear that you have found a way to get your partner to eat veggies. They make up at least 2/3 of my diet. I use butter and spices to give them a flavor boost, although I'm careful with things like msg.
