I'm in so much pain. i feel like im swollen inside, it hurts to even push on my belly and i feel a sharpish kind of pain from inside going to my actual vagina. after so many second third and fourth opinons and the medical gaslighting acting like I'm overreacting i have a doctor who said he can do an open myomectomy, some shot that i am absolutely not going to do, or a hysterectomy. i feel at a loss. he acted like the myomectomy is pointless and we should do the shot and then if that doesnt work do a hysterectomy. I'm personally leaning towards the myomectomy because I am not ready for a hysterectomy and i don't want to mess up my body with some shot that might not even work. should i find a second opinion again and try to find someone who specializes in these issues rather than just a normal obgyn? are there other treatment options I'm unaware of?

If you haven’t did the myomectomy, I would try it. Just to help get some relief. It’s been a year and a half for me and I need a second part done myself. I have been putting off the second part. Yet I can say I felt a relief for at least a year. The reason why I need the second part done is cause the second surgery would be more intense on where the fibroids needed to be removed. I wouldn’t be able to lift for a few weeks and I didn’t have help, also there’s the chance of emergency hysterectomy and I definitely would need help at home.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm waiting for an appointment, so I have no idea if this will help me or not.

Me either, but I recently confided in my gyno that sex is painful and asked if anything could be done. She referred me to a Urogynocologist.

Have you gone to a Urogynocologist?

I am new to fibroids, just got diagnosed after having multiple UTI’s that were actually not UTI’s but symptoms caused by my fibroids. I’m still waiting for my referral to come through, been over two weeks. Dr’s don’t seem to understand at all what we are going through. I am past having children so I am thinking hysterectomy when I am finally seen. Apparently fibroids can come back so I don’t want to keep dealing. I am sorry you are in so much pain :( A second opinion would be helpful if you can get in right away. Try to stay positive, it will get better!
