Does anyone else with did find that theres this weird fascination around it, and that people in daily life can be so intrusive? To the point of asking personal details such as details of trauma, internal struggles, alters communication, etc. its so awful how people are so entitled, we dont owe anyone anything. like yeah sometimes some of us are open to questions, that doesnt mean you can bombard us with these curiosities. we are people, we are a person , a fragmented person though person nonetheless no less than anyone else

I'm lucky that people don't ask me intrusive questions. my friends and family are the only ppl I really talk to about it and to be honest, it looks like they know more about my system and trauma than I know or remember

Unfortunately it is a common occurrence for us. Especially, surprisingly, in a professional setting.

Yes it’s so strange, it really feels just like people treating others like objects instead of actual individuals, always has been horrible for our mental health:(

One user mentioned feeling triggered when friends of friends from their local area ask personal questions, and they're not comfortable answering. Their psychologist suggested diverting the conversation, but it doesn't always help, and they still get bombarded with questions. So, it seems that some people with DID do experience intrusive questions and a fascination around their condition in daily life.
