Does anyone feel overwhelmed when opening up to people about PTSD? I feel like I want everyone close to me to know; so they hopefully understand better? but I also don't wanna over share/trauma dump .. and all these mediating terms that honestly make me feel like I have 'permission' to actually be at 100percent myself. I have wished so often that there was a PTSD retreat or something so I could be surrounded by people that understand. and not have to stress myself silly just to function 'normally'.

This, so much this. I want to talk about it even. I'm living proof of..living with it and through it, but also I'm proof of longterm damage by not talking about it...

I have been trying to see if my local resource has a buddy system for healing. Which I wish they had. But it can be retraumatizing for some. So finding buddys will be difficult

Talking about PTSD to people is hard because a lot of them don't understand it who have not been through a lot of bad things or abuse or trauma in their lives and they don't understand the symptoms and are judgemental which is so wrong. People should be more understanding. It's really hard for me to open up and talk to my friends and family about my stress problems. I just don't want to overload people because I am overloaded and stressed out from certain triggers going on at home. I need a therapist but there are none available here to help me deal. I tell my mom a lot of things but I hate to overwhelm or worry her.

@TLR If you are in the USA. Please try calling 211. They can help you find resources. And even have a warm line option to just be able to talk for 15min intervals.

I honestly can't talk about my ptsd with family members, they don't understand. Thankfully I have a significant other who is open to talks about it. I hope you find at least one person to talk to, because it really does help to get everything out. Sending good vibes
