Sometimes I conjure up really crazy scenarios in my head that places out like a horror movie scene. Mostly happens on nights like tonight when I'm deeply depressed.

Same here. Sometimes I blame it on the tv shows I like to watch but sometimes it’s really dark intrusive thoughts that randomly pop into my head so playing music I like really brings me back to “reality” almost

As long as it doesn’t get out of hand, sounds like an alright coping mechanism. Imagination is a good tool for expressing emotions in a way that may be safer than in real life. I think it’s okay to let yourself imagine, while knowing you’re safe in real life.

@JingleP it wouldn't. And is impossible as my scenarios are unrealistic, such as what would happen to me in a zombie apocalypse scenario, etc etc. I don't ever think of the real world things. Just crazy out there stuff like that is where my imagination runs wild.

Happened last night for me and I couldn’t sleep for two hours. I ended up putting on music and focusing on that until I passed out.

@IAng I use audio books. I need something to focus on so I don't think

@IAng I'm glad the music helps you ☺️ that's good.

I do this too. It's usually the worst case scenario with something I'm about to do and often ends with me dying. Ie I'm about to walk down stairs and a video plays in my head of me slipping, hitting my head on the railing and falling down the stairs. This has been happening as long as I can remember

@Electric.Sheep oh wow. I'm sorry you have to experience that. I'm sure it's a little scary. Thankfully mine is things that would never be possible in real world scenarios.

@italianxpeaches I mean mine tend to be possible but not always realistic I remember as a child in bed at night I had one of these flashes where arrows rained down on my bed, smashing through the windows to get to me from the garden. Super weird... 😋
