Welcome to my daily struggle. I'm always trying to find balance of being "productive" and resting/self care. Seems like there is no amount of caffeine or B vitamins that can help with the get up and go. I'm interested in what others have to say in this post as I am in the same boat with you. šŸ›¶šŸ„±šŸ˜“

Personally I'm finding it a massive struggle at the moment, a combination of pain, lack of sleep, brain fog, diving down rabbit holes on the Internet, sitting staring into my "nothing box", isolating my self, anxiety, self deprication, lack of spoons, and being overwhelmed with the sheer amount of cleaning and clearing I need to do in my house that currently looks like a landfill and all the time my brain screaming at me to just do something... Anything to improve my situation I just can't get myself to actually do anything at all so here I sit procrastinating and scrolling through this app.

@MeatyBear I understand this so much! Even when I'm trying to motivate myself, I end up 5 hours into a rabbit hole of either nothing or something that doesnt help at all in this moment! I was scared to admit it but right now my living space / bedroom is the same which makes everything more stressful. I can't even simply play a game without stress or being so unable to sift through it (if that makes sense?) Having a to do list even in a fun game or to start the fun game (Mods, esp accessibility) is so overwhelming and I feel kinda bad admitting it because I don't feel like I should struggle with something 'so simple.'

My husband has both CFS and ADHD. He only got his ADHD diagnosis a year or two ago and it's made a huge difference in his approach to life. It's frustrating for sure because his energy and motivation levels often don't match up, but through a mix of research and trial and error he's found some strategies that help to some extent when he's feeling overwhelmed or understimulated. Happy to talk more about this sometime if you want.

@kunama I'd absolutely love to hear more if that's alright! My to do list keeps piling and piling, even with things I actively want to do! Pain, Fatigue and (for a lack of better term) 'Brain Juice' seem to be constantly fighting.

Yes! I did a long term IOP program for mental health and I found that as my depression lifted, the difference was mostly in my motivation and desire to be productive. The chronic fatigue didnā€™t lift, but it was about not having the physical energy. The depression made me not even care that I couldnā€™t move and not bother to try.

Sometimes this is multiple things causing the fatigue, moreso than just ADHD. Look into getting blood tests done because if your vitamin levels are low, specifically Potassium, Iron, Vitamin D and Vitamin B3, you're more likely to be tired all the time for seemingly no reason. It might be worth checking into- that way you can rule out what is NOT causing the fatigue.

Yes, some people struggle with differentiating between ADHD, depression, and chronic fatigue. They may experience severe fatigue, difficulty in accomplishing tasks, and challenges in finding the right combination of medications to help them. Regular moderate exercise, a diet catered to nutritional needs, and addressing mental health needs can be helpful in coping with these conditions.
