Anybody know how to get energy? Recently I'm exhausted and worn out and in so much pain that everything takes a lot of effort...tried to take a break from work but ended up sick the whole time so wasn't a real rest. Just want to be able to do the basics like cook a meal or wash the dishes without needing strong painkillers and regular sit downs and a nap afterwards

Best advice: get a sleep study to see if you have a sleep disorder such as hypersomnia. That explained why I was so drained.

I have sleep apnea, I'm waiting for some assistance on it but it's been getting worse by the week

@kateafranklin And am so drained and we started a stimulant. It doesn’t help much, but I’m hopeful there is one out there for me that will be more beneficial.

We all make allowances as we get older and have challenges to work around, those that we love and that love us all make these amazing allowances because of love.

I have to plan a day around the pain. I was off work as well and I took 3 different sicknesses one after the other so I completely get how you haven't rested any. If I do the dishes I need to sit down afterwards, or hoovering or cooking a meal. You could try eating cherries they have a natural pain relief property and try tumeric capsules which help pains. My liver is inflamed from prolonged use of painkillers so if you haven't had a recent blood test it might be worthwhile organising one. Exercise will also give you energy although due to the levels of pain I recommend starting off with something really simple like leg lifts in a chair or bed.

@NatShann yeah I'll try that, I don't like taking strong painkillers too much. I have, they did say there was some inflammation so we'll find out. Will do thanks

If you are recommended anything please let me know! I am exactly the same needing to rest after doing anything and it’s getting worse. I have took a week off work and ended up resting/sleeping the whole time off 😥. I do recommend using aids eg chair, walking aid, bath bars as the do help a bit. Hope you find something that helps you lovely xx

@DixieDoodles I will. Thanks hun, I've been clinging to an ideal that I'll some day get my old self back and hoping that if I just hold on long enough... maybe it is time to get assists around the house 🫤 xx

@Nibblz I was like that but in the end I had to bite the bullet and accept I needed help around the house. I am at the point where I am willing to try anything if it helps me try and get back to my new normal 🙄xx

I wish I knew and could help. My hubby has had to take over a lot of things as I just physically can't do them. Feel guilty at times as he works damn hard too but I haven't found anything that helps 😞

I've had to modify a lot of things such as cooking ill sit in a chair at the stove when doing so or make microwave meals. My fibro has gotten worse and I just have to find little changes that work to help make things easier
