This is going to sound really gross, but does anyone else chew on themselves as a coping mechanism? I bite chunks off the tips of my fingers & around my fingernails quickly. I also recently started picking scabs and eating them… I use cannabis a lot and during my major depressive episodes I self harm by putting joints out on my body. And then I end up picking at the scabs. And then eating them. Please don’t come to tell me I’m gross, I know already, I’m just wondering if I’m the only one that does this. And why.

You're not gross, these mental health problems have MANY faces and we all have our "secret" coping mechanisms. I used to bite the skin off around my fingernails and toenails, so you're not the only one! Popping pimples, blackheads, etc is really calming for me and I'll do it excessively. I scratch and pull multiple layers of skin off my feet around my heels. It feels so good while I'm doing it, but the next day I can barely walk on my feet. YOU'RE NOT ALONE!
