@faerywyrm how does that go?

I do. It helps usually. I do quick sessions. I just recently started and I have noticed a little bit of pain relief on days I'm able to do it.

I do pilates and it really helps keep me strong whilst being very low impact so it's something my body can cope with. I also find it helps me to de-stress
Be interested to know if it does help

I do basics yoga at home and it helps. Pinterest has some great tutorials and videos for beginners.

Oh, if you have a extreme fibro (where any movement makes you worse, there is also a form of feldenkrais/Pilates but done in a warm pool helped me (when I was at my worse) with à certified therapist..,,. Basically you float and relax and the therapist does all the work FOR you. It was a God-send
@MinouBallerine guessing not in uk? I've had hydro therapy and that felt great in the water
Yes, I practice gentle-restorative at home (every morning and night ), but to be honest, speaking of yourscreen name, I practice ganga yoga, but I prefer Pilates (on a reformer/Cadillac) over yoga in general.. I just do not have a reformer machine at home.
@MinouBallerine what's that
I was told when I was in residential pain clinic that if I wanted to go down that road pilates was better because alot of the basic stretches are good for fibro (I don't no the difference tbh)
I tried it at home and it didn't help me at all. I hurt worse afterward.
@Pinkdreamer Wow, seems we can’t catch a break. I’m sorry you have to struggle with that.
I’ve been wanting to try yoga again. I will soon. My work schedule is crazy these days, but I cope somehow.
So I tried and it only made me feel worse. What helped instead was water aerobics! It was a lot gentler and the support from the water really helped me. Yoga is definitely worth trying, but I personally couldn’t even handle the “easy” poses, so don’t be too hard on yourself if you can’t either!
I try to do it every morning, though I don't always manage it. Not in a class though, I do it at home as I make too many strange noises from pain to be doing it in public 😅 I've planned out a short 10 minute routine that focuses on areas where I'm in the most pain/the most stiff. It hurts a little during it and I can get quite out of breath, but I usually feel looser and better afterwards compared to before. It helps my mental health too. If you're interested I'd suggest you look through some videos and research positions that will benefit you. Start slow, maybe even try chair yoga to start with. Hope you find it helps 💕
I prefer Pilates over yoga, but that's just me. I personally think it's easier on my body than yoga but produces core strength and leanness.
I do chair assisted yoga. It helps a bit.
@Treazha it goes okay as long as I only do what I can on any given day
Yes I do. And it helps but I do therapeutic yoga
@Princessmommy6 what’s therapeutic yoga?
@Librarianish it's what it's called at the studio I go to. Also labeled gentle yoga with thai stretches
I do. It's not in a class it's at home, and it's just basic yoga. It has helped, but what I would say is start slow, and when I first started, I was in pain, but I pushed through, and it helped. If the pain gets worse or doesn't go after you have been doing a couple of weeks, then stop. Xx
I'm thinking about it...... I'm just not due if it will be a help or hindrance! 🙄
I would try it
