I feel this really weird version of sadness, that I don't quite know how to explain. Its this very empty feeling, and I can feel my mind and body need something but I can't pin down what I need as it isn't a physical need, but an emotional one. I will start crying but its more me sitting in silence with tears running down my face rather than a more active way of crying. I don't know what this is and I don't know how to help it. It usually comes out at night. I'ts making me extremely uncomfortable but I have no idea how to help myself, this is one of the rare times I truly am clueless. I needed to get this out of my mind.

I have occasionally felt this when I am trying to understand what was causing my emotional distress. I understand why you are going through and I know that sucks. I hope that you heal from it as soon as you possibly can.

This happens to me as well, and you're right it is a really weird and uncomfortable state to be in. I think it was connected to me bottling up a lot of small things that had happened over months, times I wanted to cry but couldn't because of where I was or who I was with, times I felt angry but suppressed it because I thought I was over reacting, times I buried how I felt even for an hour or 2 because someone needed me to comfort them. I think all that built up without me realising and eventually had to come out, but because the events that caused the emotions had been and gone, I didn't connect it to how I was feeling now.
