Has anyone here had a decompression surgery? I'm scheduled to have one soon and I'm not sure what to expect..

      I was decompressed in 2019. It gave me my life back after I stopped being able to walk or talk normal due to blocked csf flow. Recovery was a bear, but bit by bit I got back to my normal self. I would say it took a year to fully recover but at about 6 months post op I was back to 90%of my normal activity.

          @Mer7 it was rough and a very atypical recovery. I spent a week in the icu a week in step down and a couple of weeks in rehabilitation, and months of PT and OT. I was in unbearable pain and could barely move or do anything. I ended needing a shunt a month later and since then things have been so much better.

        @Maryoochki I have a MRI study showing the CSF flow wasn't getting out of my skull, so I was told I need it.
