Psychosis is known to be caused by an overflow of negative thoughts and emotions. Or in psychiatric terms "excessive thought (stress)" and "dwelling on negativity (trauma)". I know that if you are faithful sometimes you will hear voices that explain things to you. Like when I wanted to know how to be saved I heard a voice tell me to get baptized. I do know that psychosis in and of itself isn't disabling like what these people claim. A lot of it is maladaption or letting psychosis bother you. I'm not supportive of the mentally ill online because of their attitudes on this. Generally in person people acknowledge that they need to change their thinking but online they get upset. I don't struggle with my voices or paranoia or delusions. Rarely do we see psychiatrists asking you, why do you believe that? The kinds of questions they ask concerning psychosis don't help because they will simply tell you you are delusional and then tell you to think positive. But in reality there's always a reason you believe what you believe. Most of the time the delusion comes from some sort of unanswered question. I've recovered from psychosis and functional neurological disorder because I used my faith to change my thoughts and I feel better. I don't see why they say you need medicine for all this. I'm not responsive to medication anyway.
