      I've taken quite a few meds, many did not help. But the one I'm on now. (Savella) is more helpful than any I have taken. My doctor told me the main meds to treat fibro is Cymbalta, which was terrible for me. And savella, savella has really helped alot especially the brain fog...

        @Dannidon Fibromyalgia is unpredictable, I had lost so many friends because I can’t fulfilled an arrangement since one day I’m ok the next I can’t get up. And not everyone understand what we going through. Now I don’t go nowhere unless is necessary I have no friends near me and I do me. The true people who cares for you will stay and understand and will help you. The rest don’t matter. In 13, yrs I’ve learned to accept that Fibromyalgia is part of me. There are things we cannot change.

      I have found that Lyrica works best for my pain. It doesn't get rid of it 100% but it does help more than any other medication i have tried.

      Activity has been the best treatment for my fibromyalgia. Hot baths, gentle stretching. Massage is the best, but rarely get that due to lack of finances. What makes you smile? What makes you happy?~ 🤔

        @bokani how do you learn/measure how not to go into a flair? I have my list however there are other ones I know I’m missing because I get flairs outside of the triggers I know. Plus with the brain fog I can’t remember details, etc. and I don’t have a tracking system that works to figure it out lol. Doesn’t help that I rarely get tipped off so I know when to stop, lol.

          @Jazzie1 flares just happen I been dealing for this for 13 yrs and I never been able To control a flare. Also braving fog coke and go. I been in the supermarket and don’t remember why I was there in the first place.

      I alternate Aleve and Ibuprofen. I use arnica topically on the places that hurt the worse. I also use CBD during flare ups.

      I take 300 mg Lyrica twice daily coupled with savilla 100 mg twice daily and cymbalta 60 mg twice daily. I also take a water pill to stop swelling from Lyrica, (triamterene hydrochlorothiazide). In addition I take magnesium calcium zinc and D3 two pills in the morning two pills at night. I am happy to say that my medication regimen keeps my fibromyalgia in remission.

      I take tizanidine (muscle relaxer) & horizant (gabapentin xr) but still have lots of pain & tramadol only does so much.

        @PibblesandTea I take Tizadine four times a day and 800 mg of Gabapentin three times a day and oxicodone I supposed to take four I take two or three depending her w bad I feel.

      Some of the biggest most recommended meds for fibro are : Cymbalta, savella, Lyrica, gabapentin, and some muscle relaxers.

      Cymbalta is what I took. It was a wonder drug. I was on that for years until my body rejected it. Amitriptyline does not work for me.

        @Sunshine_Sue I have been on it for quite some time now how'd you know your body was rejecting it? It seems like it's not working like it did before

          @DrowningQueen21 I started to get stomach cramps. It was a process of elimination with all my meds. Are you on the brand-name Cymbalta or generic Cymbalta? I had to take the brand-name Cymbalta. The generic did not work for me at all. I took it as a psych med as well as a fibromyalgia med.

      Dulexotine(Cymbalta) has helped me and I dropped 25lbs. I still have pains late in the day. I have trouble sleeping and staying asleep. We tried amitriptline(sp) worked 3 or 4 days then I was back to not sleeping. My doctor(nurse practioner)said after a week try 2 pills and it kept me all night. I got reevaluated by my primary and felt he was super dismissive, stating I needed a sleep study cause he thought I had sleep apnea and sent me on my way. I felt rushed and totally ignored

        @TNA yes amitripiline don’t work on me I can’t sleep more than three hours. Then my doctor prescribed Lunesta but the taste of metal is disgusting I stopped taking them.

          @Elladolores I'm also worried that if I tried something like Lunesta or Ambien that I'll sleep walk and put myself in danger. On a previous medication I would rearrange the house, which is annoying but tolerable. However, then I started cooking in my sleep, and 1 time I was sleep walking out the front door in the middle of the night. Thank God the house alarm woke me up, and not something a lot scarier.

        @DrowningQueen21 omg I took that one when I was diagnosed 13 yrs ago I was having suicidal thoughts and being paranoid.

      Depends on the doctor. My PCP prescribes Percocet for me. It’s a wonder drug. I don’t get “high” from it and it helps so much for the pain. The only problem is that it is addictive so you have to be careful with how much you use it

        @Kascha0822 I take Percocet for over 10 yrs I hate it it doesn’t work as much as it used to. But I have more than just fibromyalgia so it’s hard.

        @Kascha0822 I wish my doctor would prescribe tylenol 3 or 4, I was given it a couple times for other things and my pain was alleviated.

      I don't take anything for mine. Because everything Dr's gave me didn't work. Or...made me gain crazy weight.

        @Juliekay1972 I’m totally the opposite I take the highest dosage available for more than five yrs and had lost weight, I just can’t find anything that works or help me feel better. My meds are not working as well as they used to. 😥
