Alright. I have a doctor appointment today. I would like some recommendations on good medications for my fibromyalgia.

I take venlafaxine (effexor), diclofenac, & tramadol for mine. I've tried all others mentioned here, but this is what has worked best for me. I still suffer with pain, but at least it's tolerable.

I’m on the max of Gabapentin 800 mg 4xs a day. Sometimes that doesn’t work.

A muscle relaxer with nerve meds can help.

@AMWes my doctor gave me 20g of duloxetine. Is that enough or should I ask to go up.? Can I go up.?

@Mel9515 ive actually never been on duloxetine, so i do not know. I just know that when my doctor prescribed me meloxicam, i had terrible and constant stomach pain for about 4 or 5 days before my pharmacist told me about how mixing my zoloft and the meloxicam could have serious consequences and to definitely stop taking the meloxicam if the stomach pain was as bad as I had said

Gabapentin! Literally the only thing that's ever helped with my pain

Moloxicam helps me with the more achey pain, not sharp or throbbing pain tho ://

Lyrica didn't work for me but Neurontin (Gabapentin) did.

I was already on Zoloft when I got the diagnosis, so they couldn't put me on a medication like Cymbalta. I was prescribed a muscle relaxer to take as needed and it helps a lot on my bad days.

@AMWes They can taper you off the Zoloft and then put you on Cymbalta. It was a huge success for me. As it blocks pain perception to the brain.

Lyrica is a good one too. Just don't let them forgot to raise your dose from time to time when you need it. They start off at 75 mg.

Cymbalta 60mg works best for me. It is actually an anti-depressant that helps calm nerve pain. It REALLY works for both. Cuts my pain level about in half! Good luck!
