my new boyfriend keeps trying to get me to eat and I'm putting on weight and it's killing my body image. I keep telling him I'm eating enough but he says I'm not and that my diet (1500 calories) isn't enough. am I being unreasonable due to blowing my body image out of proportion.

It really depends on your body type and height and how active you are. That may actually be a decent number if you are not tall and not very active. I would ask a nutritionist maybe if you can! There are also online calculators but I'm not sure how accurate they are. I pace around a ton in my house so I got a step counter and found out I'm burning a couple hundred a day just anxiously pacing back and forth with my phone.

When I first started dating my boyfriend I dealt with a very similar issue but my caloric intake was under 1000 cal at that point in time. For me it was helpful just to stop counting calories all together. It took a lot of trust in him and always explaining how it made me feel to eat or how I was feeling at the moment food was brought up. I gained weight and it sucked. After about 4-5 months my weight had been stable for a while and I grew to become used to the new way that I looked. The most important thing for me was making sure I was eating enough which was a gradual process. Now I eat until I'm full and sure I need reminders to eat more some days but I'm all the happier and healthier for it.
