I've been having my period for almost 8 weeks and hadn't stopped. obgyn says it's likely due to pcos and suggested birth control but I don't like taking hormone pills. today it's gotten heavier with cramps. I'm seeing eastern doctor and took some herbal medication.

@ModernGhost I had endometrial cancer. My uterus was twice the normal size when they took it out. They did some kind of scope thingy (sorry, I don't remember the name) where they go in and take scrapings from inside your uterus. That's how they found mine. Hope that helps.

Yeah mine did too. So since I tend to be allergic to most birth control he convinced me to get an IUD. First off single most painful experience of my life, and I was awake when they cut part of cervix away and the IUD beats that hands down. All it did was mess me up for 2 years. I had it removed last Dec I dropped 10 lbs some of my inflammation went down etc. I'd go a more natural way if you could

My doctor recommended birth control too. It's their favorite thing, and I understand that it works in most cases. But I remember when she suggested it, I had decided that I wanted to understand what was wrong first before taking pills to just make it go away. That was when they found the cancer. If I had just followed my doctor's first suggestion, honestly who knows? It might have killed me. Not saying necessarily that you have cancer, but it might be worth more investigation before just trying to make it go away.

@CameronElizabeth do you mind me asking where they found it/ what kind. Your story is very similar to mine. I had a Pap smear, ultrasound and everything came back normal. Just wondering if I should ask for another/different test. Thank you!

Or try fresh ginger with hot water. I drink it, and it helps with cramps and lessens my likelihood for two periods a month

Have you talked with your doctor about ablation? (Spelling)
