Heavy bleeding and unbearable cramps, need advice!

ok so, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm bleeding through ultra tampons and heavy pads (combined) and I'm bleeding a lot. doctors just keep putting me on birth control, but it's not doing anything even after months. cramps are kicking my arse and heat doesn't work. any suggestions to lessen the pain and/or bleeding? I've been on my period for months straight now

Can you help? connect today

tranexamic acid was pretty helpful for reducing the bleeding for me, if I take the full dose for a day it cuts down bleeding by 80-90% and I bleed a lot. I’m not sure about the pain though, it took me years to find the right combo and in the end I need both 2 aleve and a heat pack to get through the worst of it, by itself nsaid/heat doesn’t work

Woah woah woah, you have been bleeding for months now? Please, please get a second opinion asap. This happened to my friend and it was because she had uterine cancer. This is likely not the case for you, but should still be investigated exhaustively.

Hi! I have dealt with this for a year, I had an ultrasound done and it turns out that my uterine lining was thickening. Wild thing is, I miscarried twins in 2021, they did a D&C and inserted a IUD which was supposed to help and with the bleeding and (clots) 🤢 my IUD dislodged and I have been struggling since January of 2021. I have another D&C scheduled and now they are insisting on putting a implant in my arm for birth control. (Not to happy about) but they also mentioned if I did not get it the risk for uterine cancer is higher.

Im so sorry. I had my period for nine months straight last year, and I got a doctor to finally make it stop. They had me take an entire combined pill birth control pack in a week— a few pills a day. It was honesty super miserable and made me lethargic and moody and the most constipated I’ve ever been, but it did make the bleeding stop when nothing else worked so to me it was worth it. Before that, she had me take estrogen pills daily but that wasn’t enough. I recommend iron supplements in the meantime to try to help with the blood loss. I’m always open to talking more!

Always talk to your doctor first before taking iron or anything, though. Ofc I’m not a medical professional, but that’s what helped me survive that. I’m so sorry, that sounds miserable. I hope you get relief soon

Same thing is happening to me. I’ve been bleeding for more than a month now and my doctor put me on Estrogen. It has helped stop the bleeding for 1 week and now it has started again. I had the ultra sound and they said my lining is think and i will need D& C proceeduree. I had that done last year because i was bleedingvin between periods lightly. She said if the D& C doesn’t work i may need a hysterectomy. I’m trying to find out if there are other alternatives. If i can take vitamins. I don’t want to go the surgery route again. I think it’s my hirmaones out of wack.

what do you do now to control the bleeding? I have not had very good results from anything but am seeing a new obgyn in a week. I am thinking ablation. I am surprised there are so many people here with Drs like mine...no answers. This is horrible!

Have you thought about asking for an Endometrial Ablation? Might help !
