My family treats me like was put here only to clean up after them, jump to all their needs, solve all there problem's, to be there personal chef, And to be there personal daycare center. I get no respect and never receive a thank you. I have completely lost myself and in all the chaos and now all I want to do is lock myself in my room and never leave it. How do I take back my life and find a sence of peace within?

@Rory_ I'm not to sure what to say, I've never had my feeling validated before. So thank you for that Rory. I don't think that I would ever leave them because I do love them with all my heart. I'd love to learn how to set boundaries, but then I'd need to learn how to say no to them all without putting more chaos into my home. I don't know if I'll ever find a balance in my world.. But thank you so much for taking time to read and answer my post. Much appreciated.

oh my goodness. Thank you! I want everyone to know that they are worthy just the way they are! Love me some Hay House, A Course In Miracles, & 2 women I met on Facebook! Miss Sacheen Mobley & Jodie Hart! These women have helped me find my way. I had to do the work but their guidance was/is invaluable!

I am so very sorry you're being treated this way. I have been a people pleaser all my life (56). I am learning this past year, the true meaning of "you cannot pour from an empty cup". My body has retaliated all the years I put others before me at my own expense. I know first hand how others just don't care. I'm in pain. A flare. Whatever. They just want more. I had to realize this is something I allow. So this is something I am learning to not allow. Making myself a priority is a complete new way of thinking for me but something I have to do. A meme I love, "It's not that people don't recognize your value. It's that people recognize that you don't recognize your value & they try to catch your vibe at a discount."

@TabbysMom that was amazing answer and I agree with you. I hope funnygirl54 that you feel the same. A book that helped me was codependent no more. Hay House also helps with self value. Louise Hay is the founder.

I am so sorry you have to deal with this. Everyone deserves a safe and loving home and the fact you do not seem to have that hurts my heart. The next step will differ depending on your age, finances, etc. But I honestly would suggest finding a way to leave the family home and either bunk elsewhere or rent out your own studio apartment. See if the relationships improve once you’re out and within in your own space. If they do not and these people still continue to make you feel this way- cut them off and go no contact. Being family doesn’t give someone the right to harm and disrespect you to the point you feel like a shell of the former person you once were. I understand it’s probably scary to think about the reactions they may have if you were to go no contact, but this will either scare them into realising they could lose you entirely, or it’ll show their true colours. You DO NOT need to keep individuals around whom serve you no positive purpose. Family or not.

@FunnyGirl54 Of course, boundaries are essential for everyone and everything in life, perhaps start small and work your way up— there’s never a wrong place to start. Take things at your pace. 🤗
