is endometriosis mistaken with fibromyalgia? i went to a provider that specializes in pelvic pain and he says i may have little relation to endometriosis. i worry something was a diagnosis. i started identifying with endometriosis so much so in understanding the contexts of triggers and everything. can this often happen? i feel like i still have endometriosis no matter what. both can occur at the same time right? i talked to my pt and she said fibromyalgia is closely related to the muscular areas of the body...mine fit within the uterus and pelvic floor. i am just astonished in disappointment and confusion between a new provider i saw out of hope for a new treatment. there is no way endometriosis can be taken off my list. they didnt even mention laparoscopic surgery. i only got referrals and new medications but no pure explanation.

You can also look for an excision specialist and try to get a surgery directly through them. I couldn’t for insurance reasons when I was looking for a diagnosis, but I recommend looking for resources on the Nancy Nook group on Facebook to find a doctor or surgeon who can help.
Unfortunately, this happens ALL THE TIME, whether both fibromyalgia and endo or present or just endo, and I’m so so sorry that this happened to you! My advice is to find a good GP or gynecologist and explain the situation as carefully and honestly as possible and ask them to help you check all possibilities and conservative treatments off the list. It’s ridiculous that we have to jump through these hoops, but as soon as my GP helped me eliminate all doubt, she sent me to a gynecologist who had no choice left but to operate on me. That’s how I got my diagnosis, and now I’ll be able to get my excision surgery with less fuss.

You should see a Gynecologist who specializes in endo. The defenitive diagnosis of endometriosis is by laproscopic surgery but your doctor can also perform an US test. Standard ultrasound imaging tests won't definitively tell your doctor whether you have endometriosis, but it can identify cysts associated with endometriosis

Interstitial cystitis is also common with endometriosis and fibromyalgia. I’m one of the lucky ones who has all three. 😋
31% of women with endo also have fibromyalgia according to Google

They can definitely overlap, but the only way to officially diagnose/remove endo is through surgery. Look into Endo excision specialists ! Maybe that will give you more clear answers!
