This is a really hard thing to do and please reach out if you need more help or just want to talk. For me, my parents are constantly absorbed in some sort of media, so giving my mom some articles to read that I thought were really helpful. Articles like raising an adhd child and such. And giving my father videos to watch and talking about it after we watch them together. That was most helpful and I saw slight changes in behavior like my parents not immediately getting angry when I forget something because it's really not my fault if I did everything in my power to try to remember.
I have a hard time explaining things in general, and I feel like having "neurotypical" parents doesn't help either because they don't understand my way of thinking. But bringing in an outside point of view (like an article) kind of opens their eyes for me.
