Struggling to Express My ADHD to My Mom

I honestly don't know how to explain how I feel to my mom. She was there when I was diagnosed with adhd and has been here for me since but everytime I show any kind of sign I actually have adhd she tries to "calm me down" but it just makes me feel like I'm a bad person for showing my own disorder and it makes me feel like I'm not allowed to express it and most of the time when I'm not masking it's because I feel comfortable and I'm happy so it feels like she doesn't like to see me happy but I know that she doesn't know that this hurts me and thinks she's probably helping me in some way but it still hurts.

Be honest with her, she may not realize she is doing it and how harmful it is to you. Good luck!!
