How long did it take to get diagnosed with migraines?

Hi, I’m wondering how long it took people to get diagnosed? I had “traditional” migraines in my 20’s, but they went away. Then, 3 years ago, I started having episodes. It took nine months and 12 doctors to finally get diagnosed. I honestly thought I was dying.

hello, I just recently got diagnosed with Hemiplegic migraines after dealing with a migraines for almost 3 months. My neurologist put me on a a preventive that gave me severe side effects and while I wait to see them about starting a new one; what do you guys recommend I do to help keep the migraines away or at least at bay? My stomach is rather shot from all the medicine I've had these past few months so I rather avoid medicine if I can.
