I am confident in my soul that I have ADHD. My twin sisters both have it, and my cousin. But my psychiatrists have always said that the symptoms overlap too much with my PTSD symptoms to be sure. But my ADHD symptoms are extremely present even when my PTSD seems dormant. Has anyone else experienced this? How do you advocate for yourself?

Does anyone else struggle with self-triggering? For example: I’ll seek out material that disturbs me or causes me to re-live my trauma. My therapist suggested it may be a maladaptive way of trying to integrate painful memories, or that my nervous system is so used to experiencing fight, flight, freeze or fawn that it has become my “comfort zone”. Thoughts?

what are some good apps to help with grounding for panic attacks or oncoming/occurring ptsd attacks/flashbacks? I used to use an app call #selfcare but it was removed from the Play Store. if anyone has any good recommendations, especially ones like #selfcare, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Any tips on grounding yourself? Dissociation is a main defense mechanism from my cPTSD. I have trouble recognizing when I am dissociating and getting out of it. I try the counting, visual, and audio techniques but even if it takes me out for a minute, I slip right back in. Cold water/ice triggers me so that's out.

Disclaimer this is going to be about periods * What I have noticed is that when I’m on my period, ptsd arises more and I get more intense feelings of ptsd increase. This can make me want to push people away or disconnect from people because I feel guilty about sharing my feelings while all I want deep down is to talk and to socialise with people. I don’t know why. Can anyone relate to this? If so have you found coping mechanisms or tool to help you with this? Thank you :)
