What are the treatment options for this condition and how do I manage the pain as the condition worsens?

Hi everyone, I am new here, but I would like to share my experience. I had to undergo two surgeries within two weeks. LIS (Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy) for anal fissure and Anal Fistulotomy for an abscess related to my first surgery. This is my 2nd-day post-op. I would like to know how long it takes to get better and if anybody has had a similar experience. I follow the recommended instructions, such as taking a Sitz bath daily, avoiding constipation, and drinking plenty of water; however, I am concerned about bowel movements. Some people say that the pay is unbearable. Other than the meds, are there any other treatments that might help? Any suggestions or comments are appreciated. Best regards!

Hi! I’ve been dealing with chronic fissures for almost 2 years now. After identifying the fissures my doctors have repeatedly instructed me to keep taking Miralax and make sure my stools are “soft enough” to heal. So I take my Miralax for months at a time (min. 12 weeks+) with no pain down there and assume I’m healing but as soon as I start to wean off the Miralax the fissures return and I’m back at square one. I have concerns that this long-term Miralax isn’t a great solution, but I’d love to get any feedback from you all. Do I just need to find a new doctor? Or should I expect to take Miralax for the rest of my life? Any advice or experiences are appreciated!

Help! Got a pretty bad anal fissure from using the bathroom, hurts and bleeds every-time I wipe. What should I use to treat it? Besides a warm bath and witch hazel?

Has anyone gone through some type of medical procedure or operation done for their anal fissure? Aside from any at home or over the counter things

I have just a little, hopefully helpful things that at least in the moment helps me.. After a really painful poop when you butt hole is burning, I use a qtip to put hemorrhoid cream a bit inside and around your hole. It really cools down the burning. Just in the moment for me of course. I don't think any long time helps though.. 🤷♀️ Has anyone else tried hemorrhoid cream?

Hello! I think I have a chronic anal fissure. I never bleed from my anus unless I touch it. It’s not very painful just itchy sometimes and it looks like a scab or a cut, around the deeper parts. I went to the gynecologist for a similar problem last year but she said it was okay. I tend to have pretty bad anxiety about these types of things though. I find myself googling every single possibility. I am pretty young and I don’t have any other symptoms but those. My bowel movements are alright (because I have IBS) but I just want to know if anyone else whose experienced anal fissures have had the same thing. Or should I be worried? I plan on going to the doctors again shortly. Thanks in advanced!
