hi, i have hypermobile joints im not sure if its eds but i was wondering if anyone had any tips on what are good stretches for my back when my joints tend to ache and bend too far? so far ive tried just the classic lift my arms up and stretch but that hurts my shoulders afterwards and it doesnt help my back pain and the side to side but that doesnt help either, the only thing that seems to help so far is a heating pack, any tips?

Some suggestions for managing pain from hypermobile joints include gentle massage, non-hyperextended yoga poses, heat and cold packs for inflammation and tenderness, giving tired/achy joints extra support (ace bandage, KT tape) and rest. It's also recommended to not sit for too long and keep your blood circulating to bring oxygen etc to the areas of pain so they heal. Set timers every time you sit/lie down and get up and move around gently. Physical therapy is also suggested as it can provide exercises that are safe and beneficial for hypermobility.
