So my doctors want to diagnose me with Borderline personality disorder and it would explain literally everything about me but I'm also terrified. BPD is a really scary illness and many people with it complete suicide and I struggle with suicidal rights daily. I'm just really scared right now

You never hear about people overcoming BPD. It is rare but l wanted more than **ANYTHING** in the world is to have a good life. A life where I had a degree, career, maybe a boyfriend/partner, lots of friends. I could travel and do the stuff I always wanted to do. Think about what you want in this life. What is worth "fighting" for? Use that to motivate you. Don't you dare tell yourself that you can't control BPD. The reason why you can't do it is if you DON'T do it.

I was diagnosed in 2005. It started to get better in 2016. Life was very, very hard. I was very "close" a few times. I am so so so so so so so so so x 1,000,000 that I didn't end it. The truth is, you'll never know what's in your future. You might think life will suck forever but it won't. Not if you do something about it. You already are! What changed my entire life was therapy, specifically DBT therapy. Had I known about it earlier, I would've felt better sooner. I am living a successful, fulfilling life because I worked hard to get over BPD. I didn't want the illness to control and ruin my life. No way. Screw BPD. I am worth being happy and so are you! Things will get better when you work for them and some things take a lot of work and patience. It's worth it!!
