I recently got diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after thinking I’ve had it for a few years, I don’t know anyone else who has it and just wanted to find some people to talk about symptoms with and advice from anyone on how to improve some of my bpd symptoms I have a DBT workbook and see a therapist but my relationship with her is very mixed and my bpd hasn’t improved a whole lot.

Hi Dear. I’m sorry to hear that you’re not where you want to be with your mental health. You’re definitely not alone. I have bpd and I have been seeing a therapist for 7 yrs. It wasn’t until 2020 that I found a medication that works for me and stopped my suicidal thoughts and allowed me to be better hopeful. In the span of 7 years in therapy, I never did DBT but honestly, though I didn’t notice it in the moment, reflecting back I can say I have matured and advanced a lot in my life from the assistance of my therapist. I been with the same person the entire duration and idk, I didn’t like her at first but she has been my one consistent healthcare provider that always outreached for me. I also respect her hindsight and willingness to learn about the things I tell her she has no clue about. Eg. She’s white and green up privileged - I’m brown with helicopter immigrant parents that raised me and my sister in a studio apartment bc we were poor. I think it’s important to have a therapist that listens, genuinely care, and willing to do extra work to help you in your journey. I don’t think my symptoms and triggers will ever come to a full end but you do learn to live with them better in time. If you ever need someone to talk to, I am here 💕

I was originally diagnosed with Bipolar but later diagnosed with BPD. I also see a therapist for that and a few other things as well. I currently have no advice atm for it as I too recently got diagnosed with it too.
